Simple Raspberry Salsa Recipe

Do you have an abundance of raspberries? This recipe is the perfect antidote. You can enjoy your fresh raspberries with a whole new twist. Serve it with grilled chicken, trout, swordfish, or any other dish you want to complement. The sweet raspberries enjoy the kick they get from the jalapenos, creating a wonderful flavor. This is a unique recipe that will give you a whole new condiment to play with.

Ordinarily, you would not picture raspberries with jalapeno peppers, onion, and garlic. They just do not seem to get along. Yet when you do mix them together and taste them, it is amazing. You can make this salsa as a refreshing afternoon snack to enjoy with chips or with some brie. This is a very versatile recipe, so feel free to experiment. Add some oranges or zucchini to the salsa. Tomatoes are another great addition, especially if you want to serve it with roast beef.

Due to the sweet nature of raspberry salsa, it can also be served with dessert. Try it on ice cream or chocolate cake for a spicy twist. Have fun with this unique recipe. Raspberry Salsa

Ingredients -

2 cups fresh raspberries
¼ cup sweet onion, chopped
3 teaspoons jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
½ teaspoon white sugar
3 Tablespoons fresh lime juice

Preparation:

Combine the raspberries, onion, jalapenos, garlic, cilantro, sugar and lime juice in a bowl. Mix gently to avoid crushing the raspberries too much.

Cover the bowl and chill the mixture in the refrigerator a minimum of 1 hour before serving.
