You can buy various types of mango salsa in supermarkets but like with many sauces, nothing tastes as good as homemade salsa. "Salsa" is the Spanish word for sauce. Of course, in India, it would be known as chutney and the Indian version is a lot sweeter and has a different texture. You can use papaya instead of mango, for a different result. The following recipe for mango salsa is very easy and you can keep the salsa for a few days in the refrigerator.

Fresh mangoes are rich in vitamins and minerals and also in antioxidants. They are low in calories but high in fiber. Mango salsa is a Mexican food recipe, which is great when served with pork tenderloin or with fish tacos. Chicken or blackened seafood recipes also go very well with this mango salsa and you can even serve it alongside a salad or with crunchy grilled vegetables. This salsa is unusual and makes a change from the tomato-based ones.

An Easy Yet Traditional Mexican Salsa

Ingredients -

1 mango, peeled and diced
1 red pepper, roasted, peeled and diced
1 tablespoon olive oil
¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
½ orange, peeled and diced
1 canned pineapple ring, chopped
Juice of 1 lime
1 teaspoon jalapeno pepper, chopped
¼ cup green onions, chopped
Salt and black pepper, to taste

Preparation:

Combine all the ingredients well, adjusting the seasoning to taste.
